Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman--In short, this is the most scary horror book I've ever read. The whole book is from the perspective of a child who is seeing strange things around her home, and as the story escalates and the stakes rise, that narrative framing is chillingly effective. I won't forget the experience of reading this book for a long time. Two thumbs up.
