Ex-boyfriend's dad trope done to PERFECTION!!!! Forced proximity, a cowboy with a traumatic baskstory and so much freaking spice!!!! This book has everything you could ever ask for.

From the second that Layla and Colt meet, sparks fly. Their chemistry is sizzling off the page from start to finish and I'm actually quite obsessed with them. The way that they try their hardest to tiptoe around each other in the beginning, knowing what will happen if either one of them toes the line just a little too far. Colt really struggles with what having a relationship with Layla will mean for his relationship with his son and I truly did admire his strength... and his stubbornness actually lent a hand in helping the two of them get to know each other first.

By the time these two finally give in to their feelings for each other, they know each other pretty well and it makes the spice even better because you can feel how deeply they do care for each other.

My only complaint is that the third act kind of came out of left field. I always knew that Kayce would end up being the downfall of their relationship but I wasn't prepared at all for how it all unfolded. I will say though, I'm glad things turned out to be not as they seemed because the entire situation was unbelievably sus.

I did love the ending even if it was very predictable but what can I say? I'm a girlie who loves a clichè moment where the guy shows up for his girl when she least expects it. I can't wait for all the crumbs we'll surely get from them for the rest of the series.

And can I just say... I cannot wait for Kayce's book. I need it immediately. Right now if at all possible.
