The plot twist was unexpected so I’ll give it 2 stars for that. The main character is absolutely horrible and hard to relate to or even like. Even considering her trauma there is nothing that offers the reader the desire to empathize with her. It comes off very shallow, entitled and bitchy through the tone of the entire book including nearly every character introduced. It is very slow to start and almost didn’t finish it at all. It takes a slight veer towards interesting about halfway through. I also will say because of the attitude of the book I didn’t hate the ending completely, though I think it was too quick to just abruptly end and left several threads without closure. I am curious if I will enjoy the movie more than I did the book.
