Decided to DNF this one—it just wasn’t for me. It's not bad, but it feels more fitting to someone new to Fantasy, as an entry.
The story and characters felt too simple, lacking the depth and complexity I enjoy. While there was a goal, the journey felt aimless, constantly sidetracked by random events—a fight here, getting lost there—without much real progression. I struggle with stories that feel like they’re just filling pages rather than building something meaningful and this is one of them. If I had been reading instead of listening to the audiobook, I would have DNFed it even earlier.
