First book of the year was a good one! Basically spent my whole New Years Day reading this and have zero regrets. A great sweeping life-story to get lost in. Didn't cry however - maybe I'm heartless but I never like feeling like I'm being baited into crying. It was similar in this regard to A Little Life, though to nowhere near the same degree. Also reminded me of City of Girls, which it is also, definitely better than. Good fun storytelling though - will def pick up more of her books.
