This was such a phenomenal reading experience. I have tried Fredrik Backman's A Man Called Ove and could not get into it, and thus never finished it. And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer, on the other hand, was just incredible. This novel is an excellent exploration of pain, love, meaning, age and healing. Backman's prose is nothing short of superb; mastering the art of symbolism and hyperbole in a way I can't recall having ever seen.

And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer is timely, exploring issues that are faced way too commonly in today's world. Backman has a true and developed understanding of the human condition and it was lovely to read his perspective. It is a beautiful novel that had me trembling on the last page.

It's needless to say that I will be reading more from Fredrik Backman after this novella that should, in my humble opinion, become a modern classic.
