The Ink Black Heart by Robert Galbraith

3.0

The Ink Black Heart is a You Tube series sensation but when the creator is murdered and her co-creator seriously maimed, the are multiple suspects. Robin had met the worried young woman a couple weeks prior but was unable to help at the time. When they are called on to investigate the murder, the discover a whole online world devoted to the series and the online game it inspired.

I’ve been enjoying this series a lot, but this installment was just meh for me. I loved Troubled Blood so this was a bit of a let down. It was just too convoluted, too long and too many characters plus their online personas. And I’m seriously tired of Strike and Robin’s will they or won’t they relationship. Can’t they just be friends and colleagues?

I read this on audiobook and I love narrator Robert Glenister. I could listen to him read the phone book but even he wasn’t enough this time.
