Vera Wong's Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto

3.0

Vera Wong’s life is simple and scheduled.

Every morning the 60 year old wakes up before the sun, sends a text to her adult son ( kindly reminding him to put on sunscreen or try to get a girlfriend), goes for a brisk walk around her San Franciscan neighborhood, and opens up her tea house to serve her single customer.

But when one day she wakes up to find a dead body on her floor, her tea house suddenly has a lot more visitors. The police are here(and not doing a good enough job investigating in Vera’s opinion), along with the victim’s widow, brother, and a few other suspicious strangers.

Balancing themes of loneliness with plenty of humor, Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murders brings a lot of charm to this cozy murder mystery.

If you enjoy light-hearted mysteries, you’ll likely enjoy this book. I’m personally just not a fan of the cozies, but still had some fun and chuckles while reading this one.
