Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo
5.0

"this is not about feeling something or about speaking words
this is about being
together."

This is what I believe this book is about. Throughout the book, we learn about the stories of different characters, different people, with different but at the same time similar struggles. We see from many different viewpoints, including some unpleasant ones (Penelope and maybe and less obviously Hattie) that also show us how important it is to hear each other out and to learn to be more tolerant when it comes to those around us. Great things are achieved when we work together and when we learn to respect and live with others without discrimination.

Being black, being trans, being a woman, being an outsider, being a lesbian, belonging to a different generation, none of this should matter

5/5,10/10 thank you flup for this one
