really liked it
3.5 rounded up to 4.

I'm conflicted about giving it 4 stars but a massive part of me wants to rate it 3.5. Overall I enjoyed how fast-paced this was and how much I actually immensely enjoyed it. Every Summer After follows two best friends Persephone (perse) and Sam who have pretty much loved each other since day one. Mistakes get made, hearts get broken and barriers get made.

*SPOILER*
My only gripe with this novel was the cheating plot twist. I 100% called it from the very beginning since in the flashbacks from when they were younger it alluded to it happening later. I understand that cheating happens, but to make it the main reason they split up was kinda disappointing. Cheating is normal, when you are 18 everything seems to be the end of the world, and when the one person you love cuts you off and makes you want to be with someone cheating isn't always the first answer. If they had communicated maybe it wouldn't have happened but then again relationships at 18 are a struggle sometimes. But what made it worse was it was with his brother! The moment he kisses her early on and they have tension in both past and present timelines I just knew.

Another issue I had was how the final climax and resolution felt extremely rushed. It was only like three chapters. friends to lovers and second chance romance are two of my favorite tropes. This book did it well. I just didn't like the plot twist and how the conflict was resolved so quickly.
