Project Hail Mary
Author: Andy Weir

It is no secret that I'm a massive fan of the Science Fiction genre. So when Hail Mary seemed to be popping up everywhere online i had to read this book by myself to see if it was worth the hype.

Our main character Ryan Grace who works as a junior Science teacher in high school is living a contemporary life. Until he suddenly awake from an coma in the middle of space..

Ryan no longer knows what his own identity and background is. The only thing that is clear to him is that he is very far away from his familiar planet Earth.

He does not remember his own name. Why is he located in a space ship? And what's the exact name of his mission?

Amnesia in the middle of space presents many challenges. Little by little Ryan his memories come slowly back through flashbacks.

When Ryan discovers that his crew members have all died on the journey, he starts to realize that he is single-handedly responsible for saving the humanity.

Will Ryan succeed in fulfilling this great responsibility?

Hail Mary is a very suitable book for everyone who is looking for a standalone Science Fiction book with unexpected encounters. Many books in the Science Fiction genre contain violence, which is not the case with Hail Mary. The writer has incorporated the message of how valuable friendship can be in the storyline.

I found the book to be a bit slow paced halfway through the middle at certain points. I enjoyed the originality, the writer managed to kept me curious throughout the whole story line.
