Eternal Rider by Larissa Ione

I intentionally looked for the cover that didn't look like I lost my head in "Romancelandia", though this book does contain a fair amount of just that. It is also a book about the Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse and what it's like being one.

There are some good twists, the characters have history and interest, though at times I felt amiss. This book is the 1st in it's storyline, but the 6th in this universe and some things are definitely left out, or rather implied, since the reader is most likely already familiar with this world. It got a bit disorienting for a newcomer.

It left me questioning some things about 5000 year old beings and why it is so hard to write a passionate and caring being without falling on tired troupes like "Do you have a boyfriend?" REALLY!!! You're 5000 years old and that's your question to the dying savior of the world from Apocalypse? Why not go with "What's your favorite color?"

This is why I normally steer clear of Romancelandia, it is just too cheesy and I have high cholesterol. But I liked this world and 75% of this book so chances are I will read on and moan about the cheese along the way.
