For the Record is a cute read. I love a romance novel with main characters in bands, but the band names for both were lacklustre… especially for Sam. The story itself was good. I enjoyed the Tick Tune aspect of it mostly because it reflects something that does happen in the music industry. I love how the characters all rallied together for the cause (no spoilers). I really felt that energy!
As for the romance side… it was good. I think the banter could have been better. A lot of their interactions felt more like lust than genuine attraction (though I’m currently watching trash tv’s the Perfect Match so maybe it’s skewing my views). Mackenzie’s inner dialogue was somewhat annoying 😅 especially with the audiobook.
All in all, this was a good read. It wasn’t anything absolutely thrilling, but I still enjoyed it.
