Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse

I hadn't read this since high school. I remember enjoying it then, but reading it now I feel like I could identify with the character more. Interesting how Siddhartha meets the Buddha, but in real life Siddhartha was the Buddha. What resonated most with me about this story was how Siddhartha had to live a life in the world to reach enlightenment, that a pious life of a Brahmin was just a dead-end. Also, he had to find his own path and be attentive at every moment along the way. It's true. My story is my story. That's where I need to do my work. I can't try to be anyone else.
