The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart
by Holly Ringland
Almost really liked it but kind of went a bit sideways for me. Alice is like an adult when she’s a child and a child when she’s an adult. I had to remind myself she’s supposed to be in her late twenties. I don’t really understand why June couldn’t tell her about the past, seems to me a vital part of getting Alice to understand the importance of the farm and her heritage. It’s a bit weird for everyone to fall in love with a man they meet at the river in a secluded area. Pretty sure it’s the first boy/man they meet too. June’s story is particularly hard to wrap the mind around. Disappointed the fire isn’t cleared up. Still going to watch the movie. The trailer is what made me want to read it, never heard of it before that.
Edit it to add: so far the show (not movie btw) so far mad about unnecessary changes. Especially since it is a series, they had more time to tell it.
