Wild Love by Elsie Silver

4.0

“He wore the key to my diary for ten years.”

Wow! Elsie Silver sure can pack a romance! This was my first foray into the single-dad billionaire trope, which honestly, I was a little wary of. But Ford Grant? He made it all so believable, and dare I say, I might have fallen for him myself.

Ford Grant has been named the World’s Hottest Billionaire by Forbes (not that he cares), but life gets complicated fast when his plans to open a recording studio in the quiet town of Rose Hill are interrupted by a surprise—he’s the father of a moody twelve-year-old girl. Adding to the chaos is Rosie Belmont, his best friend’s little sister and his childhood crush. Bold, messy, and brimming with life, Rosie has her own struggles, and returning to her hometown of Rose Hill feels like a fresh start. Her arrival shakes up Ford’s carefully controlled world, and the sparks that fly between them are impossible to ignore.

I loved how straight forward the plot was—no unnecessary drama, just two childhood frenemies navigating their feelings as adults as they return to their hometown. And the SPICE? Let’s just say it’s on point. It’s the perfect balance of slow burn and fiery payoff. Sure, we all love a little tension, but sometimes, you just need them to get to the K-I-S-S-I-N-G already!

What makes this book stand out is how nuanced their relationship feels. Rosie and Ford’s chemistry is undeniable, but there’s also a depth to their connection. They’ve grown up, they’ve changed, and it’s all the sweeter watching them find their way back to fun and to each other.

If you love tropes like brother’s best friend, childhood frenemies to lovers, and grumpy meets sunshine with a single-dad twist, this book is an absolute must-read.
