An interesting take on greek mythology. Some background information on the (half-)gods would be helpful for full understanding, but it is enjoyable even without. 
The narration of love and war and growig up as a hero reminded me of german medieval tales - just shortened and with a focus on the interesting bits. What really kept me interested and reading was the love story.
