A Dictionary of Tolkien by David Day
4.0
The Dictionary is definitely a good book for every Tolkien fan to have! It offers a lot of background knowledge and an overview of many places and characters in Tolkien's world.
However, I felt that some characters and places were left out of the Dictionary. For example, King Thranduil (Legolas father) was mentioned several times and did not get his own entry, which I felt was somewhat strange.
Despite this, I was quite happy with the Dictionary and hope to use it in the future when reading Tolkien.
