One brother is in the right place at the right time, accomplished, honored. The other is likely to be in the middle of whatever trouble was just stirred up. Estranged for good reason, their worlds collide in the most spectacular way in this action filled, alternate history, first contact space opera. This story is a crazy chess board full of players all with their own motivations and the highest stakes of all. The aliens are interesting, including one that might just be able to compete with The Child in popularity.
Mobsters, aliens, zombies, crooked politicians, a cold war decidedly heating up - this book has it all, and it works! The relationships were well done too and added depth to the story.
This is a long book, would be over 400 pages in print so makes for a long listen. While it contains a full story arc and functions well as a standalone, the ending poses many questions and offers the possibility that this might be the first book in another series by this amazing writing duo. I would like to see where the story goes next.
