I struggled with this book. I think it’s very well written and captures your attention immediately. The story is engaging and, at least for me, not predictable. However, I hate how it validates physical punishment against women and children, rape/sexual assault and misogyny.

Having said all that, I’ll be reading the second book soon. I recommend going into this book with the publication date in mind.
