The Purloined Letter by Edgar Allan Poe

The Purloined Letter doesn't completely hold up with all the countless stories it inspired, but what Poe creates with his Dupin stories was revolutionary and needed to inspire Doyle's Holmes and Christie's Poirot among others. This story is still interesting, even if it feels a tad antiquated.
