City of Saints and Madmen by Jeff VanderMeer

3.0

An interesting beginning to another Vandermeer trilogy. Full of short stories and new characters, the book acts as an encyclopedia for the world and the city of Ambergris. Truthfully, this book is hard to read. Like all of the Vandermeer books I’ve read, it’s really dense, but it holds onto you. I think about the stories all the time. They haunt me later as opposed to in the moment.

Excited to continue reading the rest of the trilogy with the knowledge of Ambergris and it’s history.
