Watching You by Michael Robotham
3.0

So this is the first straight-up crime thriller that I have read in over a decade. The writing was solid, the pacing was well... pacey, the central conceit though (and the twists attendant on it) was a massive and total anachronistic cliché. In Micheal Robotham's defence- you could tell that he knew and felt bad about it and did his level best to polish it up and try to get some new glints off of it, and you know- it kind of worked. Once I got over the whole "Oh no he didn't!" moment, (see Michael, I can pull out the anachronisms too!) I enjoyed the places he took it before stuffing it back in the box.
