Sisters by Raina Telgemeier
2.0

It's been a long time since I've read Smile but I remember loving the whole premise. With that said, Sisters was a bit of a let down compared to its predecessor. While Smile had a developed plot, Sisters seemed a bit forced. With a title like that the plot is so crystal clear and I felt like the story was lacking. Not much character development in the story, the script was predictable. What kept me reading was the art and Telgemeier's humor which I could enjoy.
Bottom line: Though the ending is completely wrapped in a bow, picture perfect, Sisters presents a very cute comic that is much more satisfying than other similar comics such as Diary of A Wimpy kid and Big Nate. However, Smile was overwhelmingly more consistent and I would recommend the Popularity Papers if you were looking for a book with ample drawings depicting a great friendship.
