The Ghosts of Belfast by Stuart Neville

4.0

Not sure who recommended this book but it was a fantastic read. This book is set in modern day Ireland - in the aftermath of the Troubles. All the old revolutionary leaders are now part of the machine falling into the politician molds of saving their skin. Enter Fegan. During the Troubles, Fegan was the enforcer. He killed 12 people for his friends and the cause. Now, 30 years on, he lives with the ghosts of regret. The souls of the people he killed haunt him to edge of sanity. He finds that the only way to find any peace in his life is to atone for his past crimes. He sets out to systematically appease his ghosts. This novel is full of suspense and has a pretty unique plot. I'm interested in reading more from this author.
