A perfect book.

Immediately sucked in to the characters and their lives. The richness of the love and fear and pain and anger. The prose was rich and poetic at times and cut you in every crook of your heart.

“He’s beautiful. They beat him up but they didn’t beat him, if you know what I mean. He’s beautiful.”

The fucking ending cut me deep and yet was exactly what the book needed.

No one does it better than Baldwin.
