The List by Yomi Adegoke

4.0

Who wouldn’t be drawn to a book with a title like “The List”? To me, it screams scandal and betrayal and that’s just what The List gives!

Set in London, Ola, a high profile journalist, is engaged to her love Michael who is just starting a job at a new agency. Ola and Michael are kinda Insta-famous due to Ola’s career as a feminist journalist. They are looked at as one of the It black British couples…that is until the list comes out!

Yomi Adegoke wastes no time at all getting to the actual list in this book. I love that we get started quickly to the action instead of having to wait until mid book! A list pops up on social media and Ola is alerted of Michael’s name being on it.

Ola’s feminist nature would have her believing it, but not with her fiancé’s name on it. She struggles with what to do and if it’s even true but she’s not going to sit around and sulk or wait.

This story is shown from dual perspectives with I love and it shines a light on online words affecting real lives. This read is clever, thought provoking and beautifully written. I definitely recommend this book by this beautiful, black woman!
