I never read the books back in the prime Twilight hype days. I'm not sure if Past Me would have got into it. I remember Past Me HATED the first movie though, but here we are now! I figured I'd finally give the book a try. And honestly? It's no masterpiece, but it's not bad!

I still don't reeally know what the appeal was that made this book skyrocket in popularity though 😅  because the worst part of the book was Edward.

I honestly liked the setup. I liked Bella.. until Edward got involved with her. Then she became so obsessed and like, okay whatever, that's honestly fine. Bella, you're 17 years old. You're a teenager. You're allowed to crush and obsess and do stupid shit if you want to.

But ew, Edward. Being stuck in a 17 year old body ain't no excuse. You've lived for over a hundred years. Don't tell a 17 year old girl you love her. Ew you're gross.

And wtf, Edward. Why are you SNEAKING INTO HER HOME AND WATCHING HER SLEEP? What the fuck is wrong with you? That's gross.

Did you just fkin LICK HER TEAR UP she's 17 what the FUCK??

And what the fuck with your moodiness? Fuckin chill. JFC.

Honestly past that, (whew), I really don't have anything against the book, haha. It was fine for what it was. I ain't a hater. It probably doesn't help to read it when I'm an old fart, but honestly it was very readable. It's characters making terrible decisions, but eh so many books are like that. It did take me a while to finish because I never felt invested in any of them until maybe the last third or so when stakes got high.

Gawd I can't believe they fckin glitter in the sun.
