A Vow So Bold and Deadly
by Brigid Kemmerer
For the first half or so I thought this was the strongest of the trilogy and it had so much potential! But then I think the end was pretty rushed, especially as it's the conclusion to not just this conflict, but the trilogy as a whole. I also got pretty frustrated by the underuse and underappreciation of one of the characters, considering they're such a pillar to the series and someone who only wants to make things right, it didn't seem fair. Likewise, I envisioned a different ending that, if nothing else, makes much more logical sense in my mind, so it's hard for me to see past it. All that being said, I did enjoy the vast majority of this book (especially the first 2/3s or so!) and grew VERY attached to these characters.
