I took no notes I was so into this book 🤦‍♀️

Gil and Sebastian 😍

I’ve really liked Kit Oliver books in the past and getting the chance to read an ARC copy of Light Up the Lamp felt a little like a dream.

There are so many little things I loved about this, a memorable supporting cast of characters that show so much love, how open Gil is about his sexuality, the way he comes to accept what he wants/needs vs. what other people (mainly his dad) want for him. Little things have stuck with me and had me deeply relating to Gil.

As a person who feels the need to frequently justify my choices and actions, the line between my reasons and excuses blur. One quote has really stuck with me, “Excuses only feel good to the person giving them…”. This quote has been bouncing around in my head for days.

There are so many little little things in this novel that I keep thinking about. I’m 100% sure this book will be creeping into my thoughts for the days, weeks, and months to come.

My only complaint is that wasn’t more. I want more of Gil & Sebastian, Tommy, and Joey. I loved this book.
