My rating: meh.
This book was just okay. It wasn't bad, but even when I was near the end I never felt excited by it or compelled to read it. Two chapters to go and I could still easily put it down at any point and go do something else.
Which is a shame, because I really liked Kaldar and Audrey. I was interested in them from the beginning, so it was disappointing to spend so much time head hopping with other people. In particular, the sections from George and Jack's points of view killed momentum, and just weren't interesting to me.
The final ending also bothered me. I got near the end and said, "Wait, a whole new big obstacle has just been introduced, and there are only five pages left to resolve it, plus the George/Jack storyline, AND some sort of epilogue?" Which left the ending feeling rushed and unsatisfying.
