The Queen's Gambit by Walter Tevis

5.0

I found this book to be absolutely stunning from cover to cover. What is most impressive to me is how Tevis was able to fully develop a well rounded story and characters in less than 300 pages. In recent years I have found that many authors write tomes of novels that say very little and leave a lot to be desired. However, upon finishing the 244 page kindle version of the Queen's Gambit I found my time with Beth Harmon and in her world of 64 squares was perfect and complete.
