I loved the depiction of a working class Northern town; it felt really immersive and you quickly feel familiar with its cast of characters. And I wasn't expecting the novel to be so meta, for it to be about the nature of storytelling itself, the principles of telling a narrative and the conflation between fact and fiction. I feel that this will be a book that I will return to in order to understand and appreciate more deeply.
