The structure of this book was really compelling. I learned a lot about the HIV/AIDS and gay rights and Freddie Mercury’s life was well contextualized by that backdrop. I found the use of contemporary quotes kind of jarring and offputting. While it was good to hear from the man himself, the quotes were dry and didn’t fit well in the surrounding narrative.
