i totally understand that this is a 5 star book, i just can't truthfully give it a five stars because there were times i didn't feel as connected as i had hoped (mostly due to me being in a bit of a reading slump) nevertheless, i feel truly impacted by the story & you will find me walking around today as more of a distraught shell of a person than anything else. the third act of this book is truly devastating, even if you don't feel much connection to the characters. orwell has a clear passion & understanding for political economics. i will probably return to this book later on in life but for now, i will be sitting in this feeling for a while so dont hmu
