The Unicorn Project: A Novel about Developers, Digital Disruption, and Thriving in the Age of Data by Gene Kim

1.0

I am finished with this book although I did not finish reading it. I am not sure who the target audience is. If it is developers or people who work in the industry the "solutions" mentioned to very real problems and the time it takes to implement them are simply ridiculous. If it is the rest of the people, I think they would have trouble understanding the terminology. One of the things that made me diced to stop reading it was the fact that the book not only normalizes working overtime, on weekends and even for days without a break and little sleep, but praises it like it some heroic effort only "the best of us" can do. Is that really the mentality that should be promoted? Another thing that really bothered me was how the main character constantly judged people based on the way they were dressed. Seriously? I am sorry if I'm wrong, maybe it got better after the first 100 pages, but life is too short.

I am extremely disappointed since the Phoenix project was a really good read with a lot of valuable lessons and I was very excited to read this one.
