Our Final Warning: Six Degrees of Climate Emergency by Mark Lynas
4.0
This book should be required reading for fossil fuel executives and policymakers. Lynas thoroughly explains what happens at each degree of planetary warming, summarizing 281 studies and sources. I picked up Six Degrees to better understand the impacts of climate change, and by the end of the book, I couldn’t recall what it was like to have only a vague understanding of heat, weather patterns, feedback loops, and their respective impacts to people, resources, and the planet. If you want the short version of this book, I recommend reading the final chapter, which summarizes each degree of warming quite succinctly. I’m rating this 4 stars instead of 5 for being a bit dense at times, and a tad disorganized in the presentation of geographic & thematic climate impacts.
