Heart of Darkness
by Joseph Conrad
Weirdly interesting yet boring book. It manages to highlight the consequences of colonialism and the contrasting ideals in which pilgrims held at the time. Similarly, the idealisation and subsequent revelations surrounding the character of Kurtz was intriguing.
Though the brooding nature, and I generally like broodiness in books, was too much. How many different ways can one person correlate the darkness in which a forest has to the darkness felt in ones heart. As it turns out far too many.
