Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman

3.0

I'm weirded out by this book. I have a considerable list of thing that I didn't like about this book and yet I enjoyed it so much.

But to be honest, I think that if I didn't have such fond memories of the movie I wouldn't have enjoyed this book as much as I did... I managed to ignore most of my disconfort with it thanks to those memories since this books is good at describing... Nothing.
All I know about the Owens is about their hair and that they are bewitchingly beautiful. The only one that gets a full description of her face is the "not so pretty one" and still she sounds beautiful. I don't mind if their bloodline is otherwordly beautiful I just wish the author could describe that beauty to me somehow because if the movie didn't exist then my mental picture of those women would've been like slenderman but with pretty hair

Damn I promise myself not to rant because overall.. I did enjoy this book.
