OMG a lot of wholesome moments 😭😭 I'm super happy with the way this ended. The fight scenes were incredible, art was stellar, fantastic storyline, intriguing lore, but most of all, the spine of this series - the characters. Following this dysfunctional family of misfits and their beautiful shared bond was breathtaking.

I only have very few complaints regarding this series.

First off, breaking the fourth wall through references of the era they live in, or through other means (in the last chapter). idk if it's just me, but it's super eerie and it throws me off every time, reminding me that I am indeed staring at black and white panels on a screen, not on an adventure to a dangerous island with dangerous people.
Secondly, fake deaths? Or deadly injuries at least. Implying that certain characters would succumb to their wounds, only for them to survive works once. Maybe twice. But not more than that. Yuzuriha, Shion, Chobe, Gabimaru, Sagiri have all been victims to this treatment. Even Mei, Tamiya and Fuchi to an extent, but their circumstances were slightly unique so I'll let it pass. That's a good majority of the main characters! So this trick tends to get old very soon.
And finally, the slightly rushed talk-no-jutsu part. It was quite beautiful so I can't even bring myself to complain with my whole chest, but it was slightly rushed so I can't bring myself to love it as much as I should be loving a climax scene.

But like that last 127.5 chapter was so adorable I'm overlooking any and every flaw of this series 😭 Healed my heart fr. Gonna miss this convict-executioner gang so bad. What a fun ride I'm truly grateful to have stumbled upon this series.
