Hot Milk tells the story of a mother who struggles with an unknown illness, and her daughter, who describes taking on some of her mother’s symptoms when caring for her. The book is centred around the daughter's, Sofia, experience of her mother's illness and having to give up her independence to move to Spain in the pursuit of treatment. The book is open to interpretation and I often questioned whether Sofia’s experience was real or imaginary.
