A sad second book in what seemed like a good series. I'll try to do this without spoilers.
The main character seems to have regressed then gone down a different path. All the things that happened between the first book and the second along with some new key characters are glossed over. The whine that these types of books tend to have in their female leads seems to have cropped up where in the first book she made decisions and had a personality behind those she was with.
The other issue I have is the introduction of lots of new phrases and types which would be cool except it isn't explained and everything is just taken as having always been that way which isn't the case. The first book broke the statue quo and this one barely recognized the actual impact. Maybe with some more time it would have been better but it felt rushed.
If you're going to read these books I'd stop with the first one. I'm not even bothering with the third.
