I can always trust riley sager to write the most bingeable heart-pounding thriller - and setting this one with a historic train backdrop gave all of the MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS vibes 😌
locked door mysteries are either hit or miss for me, and I fear this one was more in the miss column… it was executed quite well in a multi-POV back and forth, but for me, it was a bit obvious how the whodunnit mystery ended
the cast of characters was so period coded, I loved every minute of it! and because the story is based upon revenge, I wanted more time spent with anna’s thoughts throughout the years as she learned of betrayal, rather than repeating the same monologue over and over again 🫠
nonetheless, another page turner from sager that certainly captured my attention!! and reading it on a train from paris to london was just 🤌🏼
rating: 3 stars
