Finishing off an article writer Sommer sits and recalls a memory from her childhood. Running through a field with her lifelong best friend Nick who told her he was going to marry her someday. Shaking off the memory she gets a call from Nick about a friend's wedding that she is going to be attending in jacksonville with him. Hearing that he has broken up with his girlfriend Ashley comes at a somewhat relief to her. Not only as she doesn't get on with her but she’ll be able to stay with Nick in his guest room and enjoy her time in Florida.
Putting his relationship with Ashley to the back of his mind, Nick is ready to enjoy the Valentine’s Day wedding with Sommer. Whilst he has always thought that she was pretty he is taken aback when he sees her again after two years. They come up with a drinking game at the rehearsal dinner and have no idea how they got home or how they ended up waking up in his bed - naked! Sommer confirms that her body feels like something happened but neither can recall the details.
Attempting to push the incident behind them and continue with their friendship. Nick continues to think about Sommer but when Ashley reaches out to try again he says yes and they get engaged shortly afterwards when she finds a ring that he had bought previously.
