Right Behind You by Lisa Gardner
5.0

Loved it. It was nice to revisit Quincy and Rainie and their soon to be adopted daughter Sharlah. You couldn't find a more stoic set of parents, yet their interactions with Sharlah and her oppositional defiant disorder was refreshing and entertaining. Sharlah is a good fit for these damaged profilers.

Gardner knows how to build a complex case and Right Behind You is no exception. Lots of levels to ponder and solid police procedural which begins with the local Sheriff investigating a double murder at an EZ gas station. When Sharlah's older brother Telly Ray shows up on a video feed and his foster parents turn up dead in their home it is up to Quincy and Rainie to find the spree killer and protect their daughter.

This book can be read as a standalone novel as the author gives enough backstory to help the reader understand why these veteran profilers behave the way they do. Is Telly Ray a hero or a zero? You'll have to read the book to find out.
