I think this switched between age POVS really well. Some of the world building was slowwww but a lot of it was very engaging too, so a mix of dragging myself through and then eating the book up.

Did the whole weird child orgy thing really need to happen, though? That does not strike me as coming to age so much as just genuinely fucking bizarre. Anyways.
