Murder, She Knit by Peggy Ehrhart

3.0

I would give this 2.5 stars. I often am afraid to judge a series based on the first book, because they almost invariably get better. Some of the characters here were sufficiently engaging that I would give it another chance.

As other reviewers have noted, the author seems to know just enough about knitting to get herself in trouble. Icelandic sweaters are not seamed. These kinds of gaffes might be less frequent in later books, though. Knitting aside, there are some moments in which characters act improbably, such as attending the funeral of someone they've never met, not realizing when they have found a clue that should be immediately turned over to the police, etc.
