How to Raise an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi

5.0

Don't be colorblind: talk about race starting at a very young age!
Children start noticing racial differences starting while they are still babies!
Acknowledge and celebrate children's differences! Yes, people look different from each other and that is awesome!
It's important to start pointing out racism when you see it in person or on the news instead of sweeping it under the rug.
Lead your children by example re: friendships with people of different backgrounds, fighting injustice, etc.
Honestly I'm kind of worried about some of the racist ideas my children will be exposed to in school, especially living in an area where people still fly Trump flags- but this book gives a great starting point to help combat that.
