The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman

3.0

I want to give this simultaneously three stars and four stars because on one hand I quite enjoyed it, but on the other hand I thought it was only okay. Since I'm trying to tone down my stars inflation, I guess I'll give it three (since three apparently means 'I liked it' and two is 'it was okay'). The book was scary and mysterious, and I really enjoyed whenever we visited the Hempstocks. In the end it wasn't earth shattering to me, and I felt it wasn't as exciting and intriguing as other works I've read (both by the same author and by other authors recently).
