Si Janus Sílang at ang Tiyanak ng Tábon by Edgar Calabia Samar
5.0
Once again, Edgar Calabia Samar did not fail me.
I absolutely love the first book in the Janus Silang Series and I cannot wait for the next one.
It is a young adult novel but it is definitely for all ages. The book’s story revolves around Janus Silang and how he unveils the truth behind a computer game named, TALA. Janus will learn the truth about his existence and how he is connected to the famous Filipino creature, the “tiyanak”.
This book has everything in it; fantasy, love, death, friendship, family, mystery, thrill, and horror. Each chapter gave me chills and I just couldn’t stop reading the book. I enjoyed the twist of the story. I was left shocked and very much affected by the end of the book. I was actually very sad that I was done reading it.
I also love that this was written in our own language. It also gives us details about the Filipino legends that we’ve come across and the dark creatures known only in the Philippines.
To anyone who’s checking this book out, go ahead and buy it! You won’t regret picking it up.
